This is our fourth installment on the ongoing series about U.S. involvement in the Middle East
In the third installment of our on-going series on the war in Iraq we dissect the original plan and intent of former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.
When the Soviet Union dissolved 20 years ago, their willingness to give up their empire was unique in history. The Russians let the Warsaw pact evaporate, giving their former Eastern European satellite states complete freedom as the iron curtain came down. I have been working on the state budget (my assigned primary responsibility), tax reform (as a member of the Ways and Means subcommittee reviewing the proposals) and a couple of bills I am personally championing.
Is it my imagination or has customer service gone to Bangalore in a hand-basket? I don’t know which is worse, talking with an automated phone attendant or live operators who speak four languages – none of which happen to be a variation of English readily understood by the average American.
I read the editorial of Councilman Kent Igleheart with some dismay as I was at the very same meeting and saw things quite differently from what he describes.
