Violence-Murder In Roswell
ROSWELL, GA. The
Roswell Police Department is working a case of Family Violence-Murder. The
incident took place at 650 Streamside Drive, Roswell, Ga., at approximately
1:39p.m., on Saturday, April 18, 2009.
On Saturday,
April 18, 2009, at approximately 1:39p.m. cops were dispatched to 650
Streamside Drive on a complaint of domestic trouble. While officers were en
route the officers were notified by dispatch that a black male subject had
driven a vehicle into the residence. Upon arrival officers saw a female lying
on the sidewalk of the condominium next door located at 640 Streamside Drive.
The officers
saw a black male subject, later identified as Calvin Bernard Myers, climb over
a green Chrysler Sebring and run into the residence at 650. A check of the
female, later identified as, Minka Rachell Grogan, was done, but the female
showed no pulse. The units backed off and waited for more backup officers and
for the SWAT Team. Another black male emerged from the residence with his hands
in the air and stated that he was hiding in fear of his life from Calvin Myers.
The black male who was identified as Kevin Smith, said that he was at the
residence to cut the grass and became caught up in the incident.
Negotiations
continued with Calvin Myers for approximately 2 to 2.5 hours until his sister
finally talked him out. Calvin Myers was arrested without further incident.
